Since the time the REACH regulation entered into effect from the 1st June’ 2007, REACH Support has been organizing awareness and capacity building events on REACH for raising the awareness level among the
Indian industries that stand to be implicated by the REACH regulation. These events have European as well as Indian experts speaking on REACH, its effects on Indian trade, what the industry should do to comply
with REACH, explaining the IUCLID 5 tool that is a pre-requisite for REACH registration and other important aspects of REACH
Training Programs initiated by REACH Support include a comprehensive, two day training program on IUCLID 5, which shall enable the industry to comprehend the seemingly complex piece of software that is needed
to submit their registration information to the ECHA.
Besides, REACH Support has also developed an Online Certificate Program on REACH Management. The duration of this program is four months, beginning January’ 2008 and it shall help the industry in understanding
the intricacies of the REACH chemical policy, the various requirements within REACH and the immediate steps to be taken to ensure continuity of their exports to the EU. This program is expected to build local
capacity of the industries to fulfill various requirements applicable to them within REACH.
