The REACH regulation specifies a particular format (as per Annex II of the legal text EC No.1907/2006 ) for the safety data sheets. This safety data sheet differs from the safety data sheets available with the industries in the following respects:

• REACH compliant MSDS has an elaborate section on classification and labelling.

• It also has many sub-sections to the existing 16 section MSDS.

• Hazard identification section precedes the compositional information section.

REACH & CLP compliant MSDS is a mandatory requirement on the part of the chemical manufacturers and exporters to Europe with almost all European buyers insisting for a REACH & CLP compliant MSDS.
